Best Time to Travel: Late March to May for Spring lovers . Budding flowers, almond blossoms, narcissus and many spring flowers set the scene for a perfect start of the season. The newly opened Tulip Gardens are a must see for early birds.

May to August for Summer Holiday makers, perfect leisure stays in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg or light adventure through pine scented forests. Tented camp accommodation in untouched mountain pastures will make a memorable holiday. August is the time for the religious pilgrimages to Amarnath. Mid june onwards is the perfect time for an overland safari to Kargil and Ladakh.
Early September to late October - The fall, wonderful autumn scenery and the valley is ablaze with red chinar leaves. Many bollywood movies have been filmed in Kashmir in Autumn. It is altogether a different experience.

Take a Gondola ride in Gulmarg to see the majestic mountain scenery including Nanga Parbat.

Mid December to early March for Ski lovers. Let yourself loose on snow.
Gulmarg has the world’s highest ski lift now. It is the ski paradise for free riders. Snow boarding and cross country skiing is the choice of winter holiday makers in Gulmarg Kashmir. Honemooners love the valley in winter- cuddling up in snow and reflecting on the fantastic romantic movies short in Kashmir in winter.

How to get there: Srinagar International airport is connected directly to Dubai, regular flights i.e King Fisher Airlines, Jet Airways, Spice Jet Go Air, Indian Airlines and Air India fly from Delhi and Jammu to Srinagar. You can also fly from Leh to Srinagar. More international carriers are eyeing Kashmir.
Access by road from Jammu takes about 5 hours through wonderful mountain scenery. One can also reach Srinagar from Leh via Kargil.
Nearest rail head is Jammu. Work is in speedy progress to connect Kashmir to Udhampur by rail. Kashmir now has a rail –plying between Baramulla and Anantnag – a wonderful experience for seeing rural Kashmir.

Banks & ATMS ( cash machines) J&K bank has installed ATMS( cash machines) at Srinagar airport and at few locations in the city of Srinagar, so getting money fm the hole in the wall is no problem.
Other banks like HDFC, ICICI Bank, Canara Bank, Standard and Chartered Bank and State Bank of India are available for your banking requirements.
